SUPPORT
CST Groups in Cornwall

Our FREE CST groups are for people living with a diagnosis of mild to moderate dementia who would like to get involved in a wide range of activities that stimulate thinking and memory. CST is proven to slow the progression of dementia in some people.

Our groups run for 15 weeks, they are small, with up to 8 people and 2 members of staff attending weekly in the same venue for 2 hours. We provide people living with dementia an opportunity to give their brain a workout, try something new, make friends and have fun.

Locations in Cornwall where you can attend;

  • Tuesday in Liskeard (Passmore Edwards)

  • Wednesday in Wadebridge (The Goods Shed, Southern Way, Wadebridge)

  • Thursday in St Austell (Bridge 49,Mount Charles)

Fill in the referral form if you would like to refer yourself, your family member or a beneficiary of a service to any of these groups.

SUPPORT
Dementia Advisors Cornwall

Memory Matters Logo Green speech bubble icon

Memory Matters is delighted to be delivering the Dementia Adviser Service across North and East Cornwall as part of a new partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and Admiral Nurses. The service is here to provide practical information, reassurance and ongoing support to people living with dementia, their families and unpaid carers.

Receiving a diagnosis of dementia, or noticing changes in memory and thinking, can feel overwhelming. Our Dementia Advisers take time to listen, understand what matters to each person and help them navigate the support available. You do not have to face the journey alone.

Our team can provide information about dementia, local services, community activities and sources of financial, legal and practical support. We can also help people plan ahead, understand their options and feel more confident about the decisions they may need to make.

Our aim is to make support easier to access and ensure people receive the right help at the right time.

We understand the importance of trusted relationships, familiar communities and advice that is clear, compassionate and realistic. Our Dementia Advisers work closely with health, social care and community partners across Cornwall to help create joined-up support.

Whether you are living with dementia, supporting someone close to you or simply unsure where to begin, our team is here to help. Please contact Memory Matters to speak to a Dementia Adviser and find out more about the support available in North and East Cornwall.

“Having someone who listened, understood what we were going through and explained the support available made such a difference. Our Dementia Advisor helped us feel less alone and more confident about what to do next.”
