Dementia Safeguarding Scheme

We are proud to be partnering with Devon & Cornwall Police for the launch of the Dementia Safeguarding Scheme, helping to improve safety and support for people living with dementia across our communities.

The scheme incorporates the Herbert Protocol, allowing individuals living with dementia, alongside their next of kin or carers, to provide vital information that can help police respond quickly should someone go missing or require assistance.

As part of the scheme, you can request assistance devices which are provided free of charge for eligible individuals living with dementia.

The Dementia Safeguarding Scheme will initially be piloted in Plymouth.

Collaboration with Devon and Cornwall police and Memory Matters to keep people with dementia safe.

The scheme provides Tile Lumiio (NFC) wearable wristbands, hangtags and Bluetooth tracking devices, which can be attached to a supplied lanyard.

The NFC devices consist of a hang tag and a wristband.

Help Us Reach More Families

The scheme is launching initially in Plymouth, but we believe every family across Devon and Cornwall should have access to this support. With your help, we can make that happen.

Every donation helps us provide more devices, reach more families and expand this life-changing scheme across Devon and Cornwall.

No family should face the fear of not knowing where their loved one is.

Donate today and help us keep people living with dementia safe.
