Walk a Mile a Day In May

During May 2026, we're inviting you to take a simple step that makes a huge difference: Walk a Mile a day in May for Memory Matters.

Dementia affects many lives in our community, and the need for support is ever-growing. Your steps, no matter how big or small, can help us provide vital services, support families, and empower individuals living with dementia to thrive.

The Challenge: Walk a Mile a day in May

It's simple: commit to walking a mile a day during the month of May.

Walk in your local park, along the coast, around your garden, or even on a treadmill. Every single step counts!

This isn't just about moving your feet; it's about moving forward together, raising essential funds and awareness for Memory Matters.

Why Your Steps Matter

Every pound you raise will directly support one of our essential services, like our Memory Cafés, Young Onset Peer Support Groups, and Dementia Advisor service. Your participation means:

  • More connections for people feeling isolated.

  • Specialist support for younger individuals facing a diagnosis.

  • One-to-one guidance for families navigating challenging times.

By walking a mile a day in May, you're helping us create a community where no one faces dementia alone.

Ready to Walk for a good Cause? Here’s How:

  1. Sign Up: Click the link below to register your interest.

  2. Fundraise: Set up your personal fundraising page (We recommend using JustGiving so that we can claim an extra 25p on every pound that is donated by a UK taxpayer) and share it with friends, family, and colleagues. Every donation, big or small, fuels our mission.

  3. Get Walking! Lace up your shoes and enjoy the fresh air, knowing every step supports Memory Matters. Share your progress on social media using #WalkAMileADayInMayForMemoryMatters and inspire others to join!

  4. Get In Touch: Let us know when you have completed your fundraising, and we will send you a digital fundraising certificate.

Feel Good, Do Good

Walking is not only great for your physical and mental well-being, but it also gives you the incredible satisfaction of knowing you're making a huge difference.
