Dementia Interpreters Training in Devon
NEW COURSE IN AREA!
The Dementia Interpreter course is a half day experiential training session where the chosen attendee in the group will use various pieces of equipment that will impair their ability to communicate, giving them similar communication barriers that people living with dementia may experience. Not only does this build empathy with how communication barriers may affect people, but attendees will also learn that communication never stops, it may just happen in forms that we currently don’t recognise due to deterioration of the brain and sensory impairment. This is the start of learning the language of dementia and provides people with essential skills to effectively communicate with people living with dementia.
It is very apparent that the world has a fundamental issue with communicating with people who live with dementia. High-quality communication will improve interpersonal relationships and make life easier day-to-day for people living with and affected by dementia.

She was awarded a British Empire Medal in 2018 in the Queens Birthday Honours list for her services to people with dementia across Devon.
Gina has partnered with Training2Care to facilitate the training across the region.
Fee is £350 plus travel time out of Exeter and training will be delivered in person at your chosen location.
Sessions are for groups of 6 people.
