A Year of Amazing Generosity. Thank You, Memory Matters Community!
Hello everyone,
As the year begins to draw to a close, I want to take a moment on behalf of the entire team at Memory Matters to share our profound gratitude. What a truly amazing year 2025 has been for our charity.
We are delighted at the level of generous donations and support we have received this year especially in light of the current uncertain times. Our community continues to give generously. Thank you for proving that the spirit of kindness and support always triumphs.
The True Meaning of Giving
Every penny you have donated has helped us empower those affected by dementia to thrive. Your gifts have ensured that essential services from our supportive Memory Cafes to Dementia Advisor consultants remain available to members of the community who need them.
Your contribution comes in so many inspiring forms, and we want to celebrate every single one of you:
To those who spent hours knitting and chatting, transforming wool into warmth and funds: thank you.
To the incredible teams who pulled on their walking boots and walked for dementia: thank you.
To the amazing, dedicated cyclists, Neil, who took on a long-haul overnight ride to support our cause: thank you.
And to everyone who made a donation: thank you.
Your contribution, whether it involved hours of effort or a simple click of a button, really does mean the world to us.
Because of you, we look ahead to 2026 with confidence, knowing we can expand our reach and offer hope to more families navigating the challenges of dementia. We cannot wait to see what we can achieve together in the new year.
What's Coming in 2026
As we look ahead to the new year, we will be encouraging everyone to take on a charity challenge and ‘DO IT’ for dementia. Whether you dine, dance, or dress down, we would love to help you reach your fundraising goal. If you would like to get involved, please click HERE
For those navigating their way around dementia, our annual Open Day will be taking place on Saturday, 23rd May. This day is designed to provide guidance and support to anyone affected by dementia. Please pop this date in your diary and join us, along with other local support agencies, who will be on hand to help and signpost you.
We will also be bringing out our funniest and finest hats for our 'Hats On for Dementia' Mufti Day on 21st September. We choose to hold this event again for several reasons. Hats are fun, visible, and an easy activity for everyone to participate in. But most importantly, this day highlights that we all wear many hats throughout our lives—daughter, mother, sister, cook, teacher, and friend, for example. Too often, when someone is living with dementia, the hats they once wore are forgotten, and only the "dementia hat" is seen. This event aims to remember and celebrate every role, every hat, and every part of the person beyond their diagnosis. Please stay tuned for monthly reminders as we draw closer to the event.
Once again, from the whole of the Memory Matters team, thank you for making Memory Matters work possible.
Wishing you and yours a peaceful and joyous holiday season.
Much love
Maddy xxx
